Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi state council, has called on state government to take a precautionary measures on the recent issue of kidnapping that took place in some part of the state.
This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the congress meeting held at the press centre as part of it’s weeklong activities for the 2020 Press Week in Bauchi.
The communiqué signed by the state secretary of the Union Isah Gadau, said the matter needs urgent actions toward protection lives and properties of the citizens.
While commending the state government for construction of the council’s Secretariat, also the communiqué commended the efforts of both state and federal government for fighting against insurgents and hoped the tempo would be maintain.
The Congress also commended the council for establishing displinary committee that would flush out quicks and checkmate abuses of ethnic by some members.
The Congress commended the efforts of the leadership of the Union for prompt action taken when the member was brutalized by rapid response squad of police command.
The Communique therefore called on working journalists in the state to always practice their duties according to the laws and ethnic of the profession.
