Borno Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has led the state’s senators to meet Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor at the Defence headquarters in Abuja.
Zulum led senators Kashim Shettima (Borno Central), Muhammad Ali Ndume (Borno South) and Abubakar Kyari (Borno North) on Monday, for a closed door meeting, which focused on renewed attacks and abductions by the ISWAP, particularly in the southern part of Borno.
During the one hour meeting, Zulum and the senators bluntly raised key issues bothering on security challenges facing Borno and the urgent need to contain any further attacks and abductions of citizens in all parts of the state.
The meeting resolved to take undisclosed measures to improve security situation across the state.
