The Kano council of Ulama has announced the removal of Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil from the chairman ship of the council.
The council made the statement while addressing journalist at the press centre, NUJ Secretariat Kano.
Addressing newsmen, the coalition Secretary Imam Jamilu Abubakar said they decided to remove sheikh Ibrahim Khalil from the chairmanship of the council due to his involvement in partisan politics.
Imam Abubakar pointed out that the renown scholar has been at logger heads with the administration of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and that of Ganduje.
They said he has been nursing to contest Gubernatorial election in the past administrations and if he did not get the ticket of the ruling party he will fell out with the Government of the day.
The council later announced the appointment of Professor Abdallah Sale Pakistan as the new chairman of the council.
Sheikh Abdallah Sale Pakistan who is currently the chairman of Kano state pilgrims welfare board is the chief Imam of Sheikh Jaafar Mahmud Mosque Tudun Murtala and is very friendly to the present Kano state Government led by Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje even before his appointment as Chairman Kano State pilgrims welfare board.
