Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Tuesday received in audience, the management of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority(HJRBDA) on an advocacy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Bala, who appreciated the programmes being executed by the Authority, called for more irrigation projects in Bauchi.
Governor Bala described water resources as key to national development, adding that his administration will continue to work closely with the Authority.
According to Governor Bala, Bauchi State is ready to support and collaborate with the HJRBDA and other relevant stakeholders in water resources management on the resuscitation of all abandoned irrigation schemes in the state.
Bala Mohammed said that the State Government under his watch has since collaborated with the Federal Government in the area of livestock for the best interest of the people and Government of Bauchi State.
Earlier, the Managing Director of the Authority, Alhaji Ma’amun Da’u Aliyu said the visit was to solicit for the support and cooperation of Governor Bala to the management of the authority for effective service delivery.
He said the Authority will implement irrigation projects in Misau, Ningi, Katagum, Darazo and Jama’are LGAs to address the identified challenges.
