The Group General Manager GGM, Public Affairs of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Jennie Obateru says effective practice of public relations would contribute in addressing various forms of Insecurity across the country.
He gave the indication during the Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations held in Bauchi, recently.
Addressing Journalists during the Conference, Dr. Jennie Obateru said it is high time for public relations practitioners to live up to their responsibilities of projecting good image of the country against priotizing issues that would jeopardize the peace and security of the country.
The GGM, who secured the fellowship position of the institute during the AGM, used the opportunity to call on the leadership of the NIPR to effectively regulate the practice against unlicensed practitioners.
In his address, the National President of the institute, Muktar Zubairu Sirajo, while congratulating the new members and fellows inducted at the AGM, charged them to use their wealth of experience in moving the institute forward.
High points of the event was conferement of honorary fellowship to Governor Bala Mohammed and Emir of Bauchi Dr Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu and induction of new members.
