In a quest to arrest the burden of man power gap, Bauchi state Government has commenced a three day orientation training for newly 101 graduated Nursing and Midwifery students of the state.
The training is part of the preparation for the students whom are going to be posted to all primary and secondary Healthcare facilities across the state for their one year mandatory service.
Speaking at occasion The supervising Commissioner of Health Alh. Ali Babayo Gamawa said the training is a reminder of what they were thought in class as well as grand overview of services expected from them for the community.
Adding that the 101 qualified personnel which will be engaged under the state basic healthcare provision fund will also be posted to various facilities especially rural areas where their services is highly demanded.
Ali Babayo Gamawa explained that The state Government has approved the reengagement of over one thousand retired medical officers, this is an addition to another one thousand community midwives recently engaged.
According to him only 13 medical officers applied for the recent job advertisement of 1000 medical officers offered by the state Government while he used the forum to called on suitably qualified candidates from all states of the federation to grab the opportunity with two hands.
In his address, The Executive chairman of the State Primary healthcare development agency Dr. Rilwanu Muhammd opined that the state has been faced with a biggest challenged of man power but effort of the present administration has make a gigantic efforts to arrest the situation.
According to him to address the issues with regard to Salary and arrears of workers especially under the state primary healthcare development agency, The newly engaged personnel have delayed to be posted until their resources have been adequately prepared.
In a remark The state Focal person of Basic Healthcare provision fund Dr. Salisu Isa said the secton 11 of new federal Government enacted healthcare act gave birth to the fund and it’s term of reference.
Some of the graduated Nurses and midwives who spoke with martaba correspondent promised to served their host communities to best of ability.
