National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) has advised farmers to always use good and qualitative seed for plantation in their farms
The North-West Regional Director of the Council, Alh. Hudu Ubandoma, who gave the advice during a green field day organized by Nagari Seed Nigeria Ltd and SAHEL Consultant from Neitherland at Tohu Village demonstration site in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Ubandoma said, the Nagari Seed for many decades has been in the forefront in providing good seed to Nigerian farmers.
The Director use the occasion to warn farmers, who buy grains as seed to stop it for their own good.
He hoped that Nagari Seed will continue to produce qualitative seed for farmers to benefit from the Çompany.
In his remarks, the Director of Nagari Seed Nigeria Ltd, Mr. Boman Abbah said the Green field day is the fist stage of farm inspection.
Mr. Boman also assured farmers that the company will continue to provide good seed that will make them witness bumper harvest at the end of the seasons.
The Director advised Tohu community to come through association in order to benefit from its social responsibility.
Also the representative of Sahel Consultant Mr. Olisemi Bubah charged farmers to shift from their local ways of plantation in order to meet their farm produce need by embracing the new technologies in their various farms.
According to him, Sahel Consultant is supporting Seed company to make farmers realise the benefit attached to the modern farming technologies.
Earlier the Extension Agent, Aliyu Umar advised farmers to always ask questions on what they don’t know or understand on the new farming technologies particularly on the climate change.
