NUJ frowns at the invasion of quacks, social media influencers into the practice

The Nigerian union of journalists, zaria unit has frown at the continuous invasion of unqualified journalists and other Social Media users into the profession.

In a Communique issued at end of the NUJ zaria unit Congress held on 14th October 2021, the union stressed the need for sanitizing the profession for effective discharge of members obligations.

The Congress critically reviewed the security situation in kaduna state and commended the measures adopted by the state government in tackling criminality in the state through restriction of the activities of KEKE NAPEP and banning of the use of motorcycles across the state.

It also noted the security challenges in the state and appreciating the effort of government and security agencies in tackling act of banditry

The Congress appealed for the state government to exempt people on essential duties to use their motorcycles to enable them carry there assignment

The Congress also felicitate with the emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli on his one year anniversary, noting the tremendous achievement recorded by the emir within one year on the throne…

The Communique also expressed dismay on the proliferation of quacks journalists and social media influencers who parades themselves as journalists
