OPINION: HON. GOLOLO: A Lawmaker per excellence

No doubt history will continue to linger with the name of a political descendant of the Nigerian Prime Minister Late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule Dan Masanin Kano in the minds of Nigerians who was rated as the most talkative, influential and best speaker at any kind of event be it local, national or even international type because of his good command of English, oratory, fluency and telling the truth no matter “WHOSE OX IS GORED”.

As the youngest member of the Nigerian’s parliamentary house and subsequently a minister during the First Republic when Lagos was the Federal Capital Territory FCT then, Late Yusuf Maitama Sule had left a vaccum hardly to be replaced by our political elites both the electorates and the elected due to the fact that he was always been quoted as saying during their time, electorates or the masses finance political campaigns from day one to infinity “JUST TO GET THE RIGHT PERSON TO DO THE RIGHT JOB AND AT THE RIGHT TIME”
Unlike the political field that the politicians “DANCE TO THEIR TUNE” at the moment, sooner or Later there is a greater possibility of people shinning away from the democratic rule or process especially the aspect of elective position with the aim of avoiding political pressure, high expectation as well as burden and above all get safety from security threats who mostly take advantage of the office one occupies to attack him or her just to get ransome because they are seen as those who syphone public funds while elected into power.

Focusing on how some political office holders make huge amount of money over night by way of not given access to their people to air their demand since they feel they are now the “MOVERS AND SHAKERS” representing thousands or even millions of those not opportune to attain “THE MONEY MAKING VENTURE”.
Meanwhile reverse is the case in Gamawa Federal Constituency of Bauchi state where Hon. Ahmad Madaki Gololo is representing at the lower chamber of the National Assembly for second term in office.

Today in the whole of Bauchi state there is no single serving member in the NASS that neither has the habit of driving himself in a non tinted car nor engage the services of security operatives or political thurgs to deny his electorates access to his house or where about because he feels they are part and parcel of him like a “FLESH AND BLOOD RELATIVES” which can only be separated by divine intervention but not on worldly affair or material.

Even though Hon. Ahmad Madaki Gololo worn his second term bid in a re-run election between him and his NNPP counterpart Hon. Isa Wabu as a result of Federal High Court verdict sitting in Jos that ousted his predecessor of the APC Hon. Moh’d Garba Gololo, there by conducting a fresh election on the 21st January 2020.

There was a lot of challenges faced by the member having come from an opposition party at the NASS and the state level where majority of the members in both the State House of Assembly and the NASS are from the APC apart from the State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad (Kauran Bauchi) of the PDP too.

Moreover many of his political opponents thought he cannot deliver, having served his first term during the Jonathan administration that others see it as if it will not be business as usual in the Baba Buhari’s administration.
Despite coming into power shortly before emergence of the Corona Virus pandemic that affects almost all aspect of life and the economic angle globally there by imposing a lockdown for at least a year, Hon Madaki Gololo was able to justify the confidence reposed on him by the passengers on the crew who gave him similar mandate in the past.

Recently, Apart from standing to provide a good legislative process to his constituents at the hallot chamber, he provided a lot of dividend of democracy to include provision of infrastructures at a health facility in Zindiwa ward as well as drugs and other consumables to enhance their health status. Others include keke NAPEP, motorcycles, sewing machines all in trailers to make them self reliant in addition to thirty people enlisted to benefit from the Federal Government twenty thousand naira monthly stipend across the sixteen wards allocated to all the 774 LGAS in the country by the Buhari’s Administration to tackle hunger, poverty and restiveness not to talk of recruiting food vendors into the home grown feeding program among others.
But the most unfortunate thing is while higher percentage of politicians invite personnel of the media out fits to grace the occasion, the story is different from the member, because he tries to avoid eye service which was even the reason for him not to disclose other gesture like financial assistance to students who secured admission into tertiary institutions and indeed his struggle to get job opportunities to the lucky ones.

On a final note, It is against all these background that some political analysts in Bauchi state are of the view that Governor Bala Abdulkadir should pick him as his running mate come 2023 if the Present Deputy Governor Sen. Baba Tela who came from the same senatorial Zone with Hon. madaki Gololo decide to eye for the senatorial ticket of Bauchi North.
