Opinion: Who is Usman Abdullah Koli?

It is natural that sometimes we find it hard taking our time to read about others, but wouldn’t you like to read about people who give you inspiration to be more than what you are? People who did not let their weakness have them cowered, rather they overcame that weakness and draw strength from it. People who are extraordinary exceptional, intellectually versed, skillfully blessed by God with immeasurable talents.

One person that I know will fit this description is none other than Usman Abdullahi Koli. Yes! Sound familiar? Koli the columnist, the social and political analyst, social media influencer, change activist to mention but a few of what he is. Perhaps there’s the need for reintroduction, permit me to take the pleasure of giving you his biography.

Historically, Parents of Usman Abdullahi Koli hailed from Ningi of Bauchi State, but he was born and brought up in Bauchi State. Usman Koli who was born on 22nd May in the late 90s, in Old GRA Bauchi, started his academic quest with Islamic education as it is the tradition in Hausaland.
Usman attended Bakari Dukku Primary School Bauchi, after which he proceeded to Dutse Model International Secondary School in Jigawa State where he did his Junior Secondary section, he later finished his Secondary School studies in Bauchi at Ojone Prince and Princess Royal Academy Bauchi.

He found a lot of pleasure in writing stories and he wrote some stories during his teenage days, Koli obtained his National Diploma in Mass Communication and his Higher National Diploma (HND) in same course and graduated from the prestigious Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi with a very pleasing remark.

Usman Abdullahi who is popularly known as Shugaban Fafutuka, is a fat boy with an impairment in his right hand, who he grew up facing a lot of challenges because of that, he took the bull by the horn by bulldozing all the trials and tribulations, not giving in to despair and moved on with life untill he becomes what he is now.

He was the head boy (Senior Prefect) when he was in Primary School, he was also the labor prefect during his secondary school days. While in his tertiary school days he served as Auditor General of the Mass Communication Students Association (MACOSA) and the Sectary General of the same Union.

Other posts held outside schools includes Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Former Caretaker Chairman of Ningi LGA, he is the Public Relations Officer 1 Nigerian Youth Congress Bauchi State Chapter, he doubles as the Coordinator PDP Comeback Mandate Ningi LGA chapter, he is the Personal Assistant to Asconian Ibrahim Adamu Gambaki, Media aide to the National President of the National Association of Building Students ( NAOBS)Press sectary to NUBASS National President, Koli is still the Chairman OPPPRA old boys association among others.

On the aspect of traditional tittles, Usman Koli was first conferred as the Magayakin Dan Amar din Ningi, later on he was appointed as Majidadin Masun Dass and become self appointed Majidadin Muqaddam of Misau and lastly the village head of Nasaru District appointed him as Shalelen Nasaru.

Usman Abdullahi Koli has written over 150 published articles in all the top national dailies, including some of the top leading online platforms. Received award for the best writer of the present time by Kano State Polytechnic NAOBs chapter and also from Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic ( ATAP) Bauchi, Department of Mass communication.

He is a certified journalist full of potentialities who worked currently with Albarka Radio Bauchi, Martaba FM and Baushe Daily Times, the MD of Farar Tafiya Newspaper Company that is publishing fortnightly.

As a journalist he is expert in script writing, sound editing and presentation of magazine programs especially in Hausa because of his oratorical and skillful articulateness in using classical Hausa words and proverbs and can write and speak fluently in Hausa and English Languages. Usman Abdullahi Koli is still a bachelor and living singly happy, but searching for the right partner.
