Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN known as Shi’ite has debunked allegations that their members has set ablaze a police station in Zaria during Qudus day rally.

The Representative of it’s National leader in Zaria, Mallam Abdulhamid Bello who denied the allegation during a press conference in Zaria, said anybody can go to kasuwar mata police station and take a look whether it was burnt or not.

“This year’s procession in Zaria was attacked under the pretext that the members has set the Sabon gari police station and a vehicle on fire.

“It is on record that for over forty years of marking the annual Quds day in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky it has always been peacefully conducted unless when attacked by the security forces.

Mallam Bello stated that currently eight of their members were hospitalized resulting from gun wound while over seventy including women and children, alot of them with life threatening injuries from police shots were dumped in police cells without the needed medical attention.

He therefore stated categorically “that we have no hand in anyway of the burning of the vehicle and the false alarm of burning the Sabon gari police station.

“We therefore call for the immediate release of all in police captivity. Similarly we want to use this opportunity to call on Nigerian government to as a matter of urgency release the travelling documents of Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife Malama Zeena to enable them attend to their ailing health condition.” He said
