Bagudu promises to reconstruct Nana Asmau Gov Girls College, Kamba

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has assured students of Nana Asmau Government Girls College Kamba that Government would embark on the reconstruction of the school this week following fire outbreak which razed down one of the hostels.

He assured the students that work for the repairs and reconstruction of the school would start in earnest this week.

” I am here with my entourage to sympathise with you over the unfortunate fire incident .

” I wish to thank the Principal, teachers, Sarkin Shiko, the security and all the good samaritans who came and assisted you .

” I went round the damaged hostel which was gutted by fire and saw the level of destruction of the entire building and I equally saw your burnt properties.

” Government would start work this week to repair and reconstruct all the affected buildings in your school ” he assured.

Bagudu charged the students to remain focused to their studies, work together and maintain discipline.

He announced to the students the State Government’s determination, in collaboration with World Bank, to fully equip and upgrade the school with all the necessary learning and entrepreneurship equipment through a program called, ” Adolescent Girls Initiative (AGILE).

”This initiative will be very important to you in life even when you get married ”, he averred.

The Governor, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff Government House, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, Jarman Kabi and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Hassan Muhammad Shalla, also directed that tailors engaged to sew new clothes for the students should hasten their work .

Earlier, the school principal, Hajiya Saadatu Ahmad and the Head Girl, Habiba Mamuda, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for the immediate distribution of relief assistance to the students.

The Head Girl particularly requested the Governor to assist them by providing learning materials such as books and writing pens, as well as new socks and sandals in view of the losses they had suffered in the fire.

Bagudu made a donation of one million naira to the students to take care of their immediate needs .
