BASEPA launches Sustainable waste management framework, cancels unsuitable dumping sites in Bauchi metropolis

 

The Director General of the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) Dr Ibrahim Kabir has earlier today cancelled two unsuitable waste collection centers,these are the Fadaman Mada behind GG and Yaya Peto Link all in Fadaman Mada area of the Metropolis.
.a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the DG on Media Isyaka Laminu Badamasi revealed.

According to the Statement, the Director General said the exercise is one of the sustainable waste management framework introduced by the current BASEPA leadership to accessible and organized areas of the metropolis and other Urban towns in the state.

He also used the occasion to call on the general public to support the Initiatives introduced by the Agency in it’s efforts to keep the state clean and healthy.

In the DG’s entourage during the exercise are the Directors Environmental Conservation Aminu Ibrahim Ningi, Personnel Research and Statistics, Daji Gwabbema, Acting Director, Admin and Human Resources of the Agency, Dauda G. Zakka as well as members of the Enforcement team.

In another development, the Director General also had an interactive meeting with the leadership and members of the Bauchi State Independent Environmental Service Providers in his office.

The meeting is to discuss on the proposed modalities on how to improve their operation and formalisation of the sector to meet the standard requirements as a service provider and BASEPA, as a regulatory Agency will ensure the smooth process of the exercise.

The meeting had in attendance the managers of the following Companies; BBG,Top Town Cleaners, Asma’u, Kulthum and Naz Cleaning Services, Primetime Environmental Cleaners, Hanaan Consultancy services as well as Talatu and Premium Cleaners Ltd.
