Bauchi NUJ urges NSE to end Building collapse in Nigeria

 

 

The Bauchi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Comrade Umar Sa’idu has called on the Nigerian Society of Engineers to use their experience in Engineering Profession in order to address the issue of Building collapse in Nigeria.

The call was made when the Nigerian Society of Engineers paid a courtesy Visit to the State Council of the NUJ ahead of the 2022 World Engineering Day Celebration.

Umar Sa’idu Said Building collapse have become a very challenging issues in the country which according to him the Engineers have a vital role to play in reducing it.

He added that Bauchi State NUJ is ready to partner with the Society of Engineers to ensure good development to the society and Nigeria at large.

Early speaking the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers Bauchi State Branch Engr. Abdulmalik Maleka said they were at the NUJ for Courtesy/Advocacy Visit as part of the week long program of the 2022 world engineering Day.

Abdulmalik Maleka said World Engineering Day for sustainable development was proposed by the world federation of Engineering Organization and adopted by UNESCO In 2019 and it is celebrated Worldwide on the 4th of March every year.

Maleka added that the day offer an opportunity to highlight Engineers and Engineering achievement in our modern world and improve public understanding of how engineering and technology are central to modern life and for sustainable development, the Theme for this year’s celebration is Build Back Wiser-Engineering the Future.
