INSECURITY: I.G urges communities to be security vigilants for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria

 

The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu says the Nigera Police Force will work hand in hand with community and religious leaders in safeguarding lives and prosperity of citizens.

Correspondent Halliru Ahmad reports that the Police Boss Was Speaking at a one day Mass Sensitisation Campaign on Community policing held in Bauchi.

Represented by AIG in charge of ZONE 12 Bauchi, Ekon Ene, the IGP said the policy is to pulfil the mandate of the force of engaging community on security matters towards strengthen the force.

Mohammed Adamu maintains that the Nigeria Police will remain Committed in Combating crimes and criminalities across all six geopolitical zones of the Country.

Speaking on the theme “Understanding Community Policing a Framework For Action” Consultants at the event Issa Aremu and Retired ACP Christopher Luke are of the view that community participantion in security matters will contribute significantly in addressing security challenges from the grassroot, saying the security of lives and prosperity citizens lies on all and Sundary.

In their remarks, Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu and that of Misau Alhaji Ahmed Sulaiman among many other Stakeholders described the policy as apt and it will go along way in addressing security threats bedeviling the society.

The Sensitisation Campaign had a participants from all six states of Northeastern part of the country.
