Jigawa state Government says it would soon embark on execution of water project to boost its supply in Jahun and Aujara towns
Similarly, the government says it would also desilt ponds that threaten the towns.
The Speaker, Jigawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Idris Garba Jahun, made the disclosure to newsmen, while inspecting water schemes that will be upgraded in the two towns.
Alhaji Idris Garba, said the reticulation of Jahun township water system was undertaken by Late Muhammad Abubakar Rimi’s administration in the old Kano state.
He said the water projects in Jahun and Aujara were the first to be carried out by Muhammad Badaru Abubakar led administration this year.
The speaker urged people of the two towns to cooperate with government for the successful completion of the water supply upgrading intitiative.
Alhaji Idris Garba Jahun inspected old water scheme in Jahun and Aujara as well as water ponds threatening the people of the two towns and promised to address the problem.
In his remarks, State Commissioner of water resources, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa assured the ministry’s determination to ensure the successful execution of the projects.
He said so far, the state government under the ministry, has converted 187 water motorised schemes to solar powered across the state.
