NCPC sets criteria for 2022 pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan

The National Christian Pilgrims commission NCPC has outlined certain criteria and age limit to qualify intending pilgrims to Israel and Jordan.

The NCPC said all Intending pilgrims must be married and above forty years of age that will be screened for this year’s pilgrimage.

The executive secretary Christian Pilgrims welfare board Bauchi, Mr Samuel J Haruna gave this indication to newsmen in his office.

He added that people of seventy years of age and above as well as those with critical ailment will equally not be allowed to undergo the exercise, saying the exercise for pilgrimage involves a lot of trekking which may affect the health of such category negatively.

The executive secretary said thirteen people were screened out in last year’s pilgrimage because they did not meet the requirements but assured them to be part of this year’s exercise if they meet up the requirements.

Mr Samuel Haruna also stated that this year’s fare stood at one million, two hundred thousand naira only, both feeding, accomodations, flight ticket and covid 19 test both in Nigeria, Israel and Jordan.

The executive secretary encouraged well to do individuals in the society to sponsor people who have the intention to partake in the exercise but with limited resources, Adding that For self sponsorship, intending pilgrims should at least have the sum of one point four million naira both covid 19 and basic traveling allowance inclusive.
Mr Samuel Haruna said the board officialsand team of engineers have successfully conducted the state of readiness visit to Israel and Jordan to ensure onward preparedness for this year’s pilgrimage.

He said prepation is on top gear to ensure that this year’s pilgrimage is a success, thereby urging people to prepare their minds towards the holy exercise.

Meanwhile the executive secretary Christian Pilgrims welfare board has expressed his gratitude to the governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed for his commitment to the Christian community in the state and prayed God to enable him succeed in piloting the affairs of the state and his political pursiut.
