NOA, UNICEF partners Alkaleri local government to support campaign on Covid-19 protocols

 

The Alkaleri Local Government Chairman, Yusuf Garba Kigan has promised to support campaign on COVID-19 protocols for the total eradication of the virus in the area.

The Chairman was speaking at a one day Ward Stakeholders engagement of Influential people for positive behavior development on Covid-19 protocols for all the wards of Alkaleri LGA.

The Chairman who is represented by his deputy, Mohammed Idris Bappah emphasized the role of Traditional, Religious and Influential community and opinion leaders in moulding societal behavior saying that the campaign is timely.

He demonstrated the commitment of the LGA by allowing the Deputy chairman and five ward councillors to serve in the committee to ensure its total success within the shortest possible time.

Honorable Yusuf Kigan expressed the total commitment of the Local Government to the committee in order to ensure the set objectives were achieved.

He commended NOA and UNICEF for the initiatives and called on his people to embrace the behavioral change for their health development.

The program which was a collaboration between NOA and UNICEF featured 3 presentations on: 1.Risk Communication, Social mobilization and Community Engagement, 2. Applying the principles of Behavior Change to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in Bauchi state, 3. Community Engagement and Action plan facilitated by Alh. Nuru Y. Kobi, Adamu U. Sarkinyara and Amos Luka respectively.
