Katsina Governor partners NSCDC to establish Katsina State Road Traffic Agency (KATROTA)

Governor Aminu Bello Masari says the state government plans to synergize with the Nigeria Civil Defense Corps to train the proposed 30,000 personnel to establish Katsina state Traffic Control Agency.

Aminu Bello Masari was speaking when he received the Provost of the Civil Defense College, Katsina.

The Governor announced that the state House of Assembly had recently passed the bill for the establishment of the state Agency for Traffic Control, stressing that Youths to be recruited for the Agency will be made to undergo training in the College along Batsari road in Katsina Metropolis.

Before the year runs out, Governor Aminu Masari promised that a Director General will be appointed for the Agency-KATROTA to assist in controlling traffic and other minor security issues, adding that the collaboration with the college would help the staff of the new KATROTA.

He said that the state government already had over thirty thousand personnel under its watch that would be train and uniform accordingly.

Masari also said that the Nigeria Civil Defense Security will be engage by the state government to train the numerous members of the Vigilant groups, adding that the collaboration will also involve the local governments in the state.

He told the Provost that the trainings would keep the college busy.

Governor Aminu Masari explained that there were people working in the Frontline that government hoped to request for the College to offer basic training on security.

He therefore asked the management of the college to collaborate with the state government to secure Katsina state.

Earlier the Provost of the college, , Assistant commandant, Professor Iliya Sarki Dongs told Governor that he was newly posted to the college and was at government house to familiarize himself with the terrain.

Professor Dongs told the Governor that although the state government had done a lot for the college, they would act like Oliver Twist and request for more assistance to run the college effectively.

He assured that the management of the college would continue to collaborate with the state government in peace and conflict resolution.
