Philanthropist AYM Shafa donates multimillion naira Tuberculosis management tools to Bauchi state Government

Bauchi state Government has received a multimillion naira donation of Tuberculosis management equipment from a private firm AYM shafa Holdings Limited.

The gesture involved a Tuberculosis diagnosis tool known as TB-LAMB was presented through USAID and KNCV Tuberculosis foundation platform who are piloting the crusade against the disease in Bauchi state.

Speaking during the Hand-over ceremony held at The headquarters of Bauchi Agency for the control of Aids, Tuberculosis and Leprosy BACATMA, Overseeing Commissioner of Health Alh. Ali Babayo Gamawa affirmed that the donation was inline with the present administration’s new approach to healthcare sector which involves both private and partners working together to improve the wellbeing of the citizens.

Ali Babayo commended AYM shafa Holdings Limited for the support and urged other indegenous firms to engage with the state government through their cooperate social responsibilities to provide affordable and qualitative healthcare services to people of the state.

In a remark The Executive director of KNCV TB foundation Dr. Odume Bethrand stated that KNCV Nigeria with support from USAID has been delivering a quality tuberculosis services across 14 states in the country.

According to him the TB-LAMB machine can test multiple samples at a time, provide the results less than an hour and also comes with portable solar system which makes it adaptable for use in hard-to-reach areas.

In a vote of thanks Executive chairman BACATMA Dr. Sani Dambam and the state TB program officer Dr. Yakubu Gida Abdullahi both Commended AYM shafa Holdings Limited for the support adding that it’ll positioned the state in a good track to end the disease in no distance future.

Presenting the tool, Managing director AYM shafa Alh. Ahmed Umar Ibrahim explained that the firm have been contributing in various areas including building or renovation of Healthcare facilities, Scholarship for students, sorting out of medical bills for less privileged and provisions of hospital consumables.

He promised that partnership between the firm and the state government will be maintained especially in the areas of improving the standard of healthcare services to the citizens.

Recall that recently, a religion organization E.A Adeboye had also donated a kidney dialysis machines to the state government as a support toward providing quality healthcare services delivery to the state.
