Gombe Governor Bags Traditional Title of Madawakin Gona in Akko LGA

 

Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya earlier today was conferred with the traditional title of Madawakin Gona by the Emir of Gona, HRH Alhaji Umar Abdulkadir Abdussalam.

While performing the turbaning ceremony at his palace in Akko-Gari, Akko local government area, the Emir said maintained that the honour was in recognition of the Governor’s leadership qualities, integrity and remarkable commitment as well as his unwavering determination to take Gombe state to the next level of prosperity and development.

He said the emirate council approved the conferment of the traditional title of Madawaki, a very significant title in the palace, to also show appreciation to the Governor for the developmental projects being executed in the emirate. He particularly praised the Governor for bringing numerous projects to the area including roads, hospitals, schools as well as his support for the establishment of the Nigerian Airforce Reconnaissance ( NAF Base) all within less than two years of his stewardship.

Alhaji Umar Abdussalam added that his emirate remains indebted to the Governor and will continue to give him maximum support and offer prayers for the success of his government.

The turbarning ceremony had in attendance, the Speaker of Gombe state House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Luggerewo, Secretary to the state government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Chief of staff, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Speaker Gombe state House, Commissioners, Special Advisers, royal fathers, including the Mai Kaltungo, Mai Tangle, Emirs of Akko, Dukku, Yamaltu and the Mai Tula among other dignitaries.

Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of letter of appointment and a well decorated horse to the Governor to complement the title.
