HEALTH SUMMIT: A clear indication of Governor Bala’s improved health care service in Bauchi

It is counted as part of dedication to serving people when a leader strives to fulfil his promises, that will make people believe that the government is alive to serve them, and whenever such promise is taken, the leader really means business, not just propaganda.

Recalled that, Sen. Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi, was in Abuja during a visit, when Nigeria was declared Polio-free, he visited the Heath minister Dr. Osagie, and also commended their efforts in actualizing that Nigeria has become the dreamed atmosphere of the Nigerians.

The minister also commended his Excellency Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed, for showing an unquantifiable dedication to enhance the health sector in Bauchi state, with provision of the required facilities for effective health care delivery system in Bauchi.

As part of the efforts mentioned then was, Bauchi state under his Excellency Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed has over 15% of its budget allocated to the health sector rehabilitation in the state.

The governor also disclosed that, with the help of development partners, Bauchi state has 108 primary health care centres, and the governor added that he aspires to provide one PHC per political ward of the state.

On the 19th October 2020, the long-awaited first health summit was held at the command guests in Bauchi, where many highly respected public officers were in attendance.

The Hon. Minister of health Dr. Osagie, who got invited by his Excellency Governor Bala himself during a visit he paid to him in Abuja, was also said to have attended the summit.

The governor was at the venue earlier than the arrival of the participants themselves, this has equally demonstrated his commitment towards the conduct of the summit.

Speaking with journalists after the closing of the summit, Governor Bala said with the conduct of the summit, the state government is set for the delivery of effective healthcare services to the citizens.

The Governor expressed gratitude to Federal Government, Development Partners and other stakeholders in the health sector for their full participation throughout the period of the summit and looked forward for continued partnership.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Aliyu Maigoro read the communique issued at the end of the summit which focused on finding solutions to identified challenges.

Bauchi according to him, is one of the states that suffered from so many plagues in the past, even prior to the advent of the novel coronavirus. Hence described the event as an eye-opener for Bauchi state in curbing the menace bedevilling the state’s health care delivery challenges.

His Excellency, Sen. governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed, was commended for his steadfastness in bringing the needed changed to the good people of Bauchi state, and encouraged by the guests at the event to keep up the good work.
