I will continue to move Bauchi forward, Says Governor Bala as he signs 12 bills into law
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has reiterated his administration’s commitment to moving Bauchi State forward, for the benefit of citizens especially the upcoming generations.
Mohammed, made this known, shortly after signing into law, 12 bills passed by the Bauchi State House of Assembly .
According to Bala Mohammed, Government Agencies need legal framework and backing to effectively function as legal entities, adding that the enactment of Laws by the Legislature will enable the Executive express and implement through agencies.
While commending the leadership of the assembly, Mohammed assured the lawmakers of his administration’s collaboration to ensure good governance, exemplary leadership and dividends of democracy, are delivered to the citizens.
On his part, the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, said the passage of the 12 bills by the State Assembly signifies the good working relationship between the two arms of Government in the State.
The 12 bills assented by Governor Bala, according to his new media aide, Lawal Mu’azu Bauchi, are;
(a) Law on the establishment of the Bauchi State Vigilante And Youth Empowerment, 2022.
b) Provision for the establishment of Bauchi State and Local Government Contributory Pension, 2022
c) Law to repeal the Bauchi State Urban Planning and Development Act 2012 and enact the Bauchi State Physical Planning and Development Control Board.
d) Law to repeal the Bauchi State College of
Agriculture Law 2013 to establish Division of Agricultural Colleges in Bauchi State 2022.
e) Provision for the establishment of Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency, 2022.
f) Law to repeal the Bauchi State Separation of Account (Judiciary) Law, 2019.
g) A Law to Provide for Bauchi State Tourism
Development Corporation.
Others are :
h) A Law to amend Local Government Law 1976 (as amended).
i) A Law to repeal Bauchi State University Establishment Law, 2010 and enact a law to establish Sa’adu Zungur University ,2022.
j) A Law establish the Bauchi State Security Trust Fund ,2022.
k) A Law to establish Bauchi State Environmental Trust Fund, 2022.
m) A Law to establish the Bauchi State Roads and Traffic Agency Law, 2022.
