ZABARMARI: Nigerian speakers condole Borno government, call for concerted effort to end killings

 

The Chairman of Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has condoled with the Government and People of Borno State over the killing of farmers in Zabarmari Village of Jere Local Government Area by insurgents.

Spokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly in a statement said, the Chairman of the Conference described the incident as barbaric, ungodly inhuman and condemnable.

He said the farmers who are in their farmlands carrying out their legitimate business to feed themselves and the nation are martyrs and heroes whose blood will never go in vain.

The Chairman who wondered how a human being will slaughter his fellow human being said the killers of the innocent farmers will never know peace in their lives.

 

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman explained that the Zabarmari incidents and other similar incidents in the State and other parts of the Country call for concerted effort to bring the bedeviling insecurity affecting the Country to permanent end.

“We stand with people of Borno State at this trying moment. As representatives of the people we must rise and secure our constituents at all cost. We can’t fold our arms watching our people being killed, maimed and kidnapped.

“We must go back to drawing board, change our tactics and approaches, overhaul the security apparatus and engage all stakeholders so as to secure our country.

” We call on the Federal Government to support Borno State Government and partner with neighbouring countries and all stakeholders in tackling the prevailing insecurity especially in northern part of the Country.” He said.

The Chairman prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Jannatul Firdaus and expose the perpetrators of the heinous act.
