Bauchi Gov’t unveils plan to explore the mining sector

Bauchi government has unveilled its new ways of improving IGR through mining activities in the state

The state Commissioner of Natural Resources, Nurudden Abdulhamid stated this during an official visit to Ningi Local government area of the state .

Nurudden Abdulhamid who told the gathering that, the purpose of the visit is to deeply discuss with relevant bodies to include Tipper and Union Miners association with a view to boost revenue generation to the state government through mining transportation.

The Commissioner said the ministry of Natural Resources is saddled with the responsibilities of monitoring and evaluating the abundant of Natural resources of the state and diversify modalities of accessing more revenues to the state government ,hence the need on the relevant stakeholders in the sector to their imputs toward diversifying the state economy status .

He therefore revealled that ,the state government would introduce new policy of registering mining operators,and collect their data base in order to sanitize the system,saying that they shouldn’t pay their loads and surface rents .

In his remark, the Chairman of Ningi Local government, Mahmoud Hassan Tabla called on the miners in the area to provide all necessary support so that to achieve the set goals.

Hassan Tabla promised his council’s support in order to actualize the set objectives.

Also speaking,the Emir of Ningi ,Yunusa Muhd Danyaya promised to offers a fully support to the new initiative for the benefit of all.

In address during the visit,the state Chairman of Mining Association,Alh Bello Inuwa Galoji noted some of the challenges they encountered to include,physical assault from host communities among others and called on the state government to intervene.
