Outstanding Salaries: Labour Union in Bauchi gives 21 days ultimatum to the state government to resolve pending issues

 

Organized labour in Bauchi state has issued a twenty day ultimatum to the state government to resolve all pending issues of payment of salaries and pension or face indefinite strike.

The State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Danjuma Saleh announced this in an interview with newsmen on the position of the organized labour in the state.

The Chairman said NLC and TUC recently conducted joint meeting where they called on the state government to urgently resolve all the pending issues which has for long been witnessing continues problems of omission and staggered payments.

He said the organized labour expressed displeasure and lost of confidence on the continues retention of the services of Dynatech consultants which the labour described as the main source of the problem in the salaries and pensions administration.

Comrade Danjuma Saleh also called on the state government to conclude the implementation of the consequential adjustment of salary of officers on grade level seven within the twenty one days ultimatum.

He said during meeting agreed that all issues of deductions pertaining to contributory health scheme and contributory pensions will only be considered by the organised labour after the implementation of the consequential adjustment and stabilization of monthly payment of salaries and pensions.

Comrade Danjuma Saleh therefore urged the state government to urgently consider resolving the issues once and for all in the spirit of existing cordial relations between the labour and the state government.
